Fabric Strategies

Classic Block Strategy
The "look":

A classic block divides the shapes into 2 groups, pattern shapes and background shapes.

Cutting Plans:

The pattern shapes are cut from one set of fabrics and the background shapes are cut from another set of fabrics that contrast.

Inverse Block Strategy
The "look":

The shapes within the block will typically alternate between light and dark within the block and will be placed in an alternating block arrangement without spacing between the blocks.

Cutting Plans:

The whole block is cut from each fabric. Half the fabrics are light and half the fabrics are dark.
